This happened to me...call the local car dealer of your type of car...they can get keys for you right away...

Take the vin number of the car to the nearest dealer, and they can make a set of keys to fit, providing the locks have not been changed.
If it's one of the later model years, it could be very expensive as some models have a computer chip imbedded in them.

I'm pretty sure a locksmith can make you a key from your VIN (vehicle ID Number) Which you can find on your registration slip or on the tag on the dashboard of you car. Did you look in the bottom of the cooler. That's the kind of place I would lose mine............

If you've totally, permanently lost them, you can order a copy from the car manufacturer -- I think a locksmith can tell you how to do this. (I had to do it once, when I lost my car keys on the subway).

But it takes days -- and it does not sound like your car keys are permanently lost -- just misplaced.

I don't know if taxis will take you with a board or not but you could try a u-haul or some other rental.
