I've seen a few recipies for dog shampoo and they call for glycerin. Is there something else that would do the same thing?

I've done some bar soap making and the glycerin is just the main ingredient. We put glycerin, scent, color, moisturizing ingredients.

Why do you want something different? Is dog allergic to it?

There are lots of ways to clean without soap, but I don't know how many of them I'd use on my dog. Ammonia, bleach, lysol, borax, vinegar. Most of these would get the dirt and oils out of doggie's coat, but I'd be afraid to use ammonia without dilution.

Maybe an organic dog wash? I'd check that out.

Hope you find what you're looking for.
