they dress to impress the guys but to make the girls jealous and give them some competition as well ..i think a woman likes doing that but other then all that ...a lady will dress up and try looking nice no matter who's around...its in our genes...! so we also just like to look nice for ourselves and generally!.. a girl is what she wears!... you should dress everyday to conquer the world...who knows who someone could meet!

although I cover up a lot

Wow, really excellent question, very thought provoking.......
and honestly, I wanted to cheat and see how other women were answering, but I was afraid that would influence my answer...so I didn't.
I would have to say that from about 12 years old and up, I've always dressed for men; guys, as you say. Which really has me thinking about my motivation from an early age...and how ingrained certain behavior is in each sexes behavior....hmmmm and I think I'm such a big feminist!

Slutty girls dress for guys. Fashionable girls dress for other girls. People who look like crap- dress for themselves.

I think I understand.
They do it for both. First the girls all have to agree on what looks good, so they're all in style.
Of course they dress for the boys. I think that one is self-explanatory.

We dress for both. We want people to think we have a sence of style and to like us. We also dress for ourselves, what we feel comfortable. Nobody should be dressing for anybody but them selves, but they need to dress modestly for others. well, of course you probably wouldn't be dressing for yourself at church or a wedding or something though.
