I looked in the mirror right after waking up! Not sure if it was funny or scary. =)

I was in the workshop yesterday. I have lots of tools and lumber and projects I need to get to, but I never have time. So while others were out doing foreworks and BBQ's I had some alone time with the sawdust.
The shop is beneath a store. And beneath that is a sub-basement full of stuff that's in storage. There's no windows down there, but there is a door, so I can move things in that way if I need to, rather than go down all the stairs.
Someone had left some ladders across the storage area, and I needed to get through. They leave stuff across the aisle like that all the time. I'm usually falling over their crap in the dark, since there's no lights in that part. I stacked the ladders up and out of the way. I didn't stack them neatly, I kinda threw them. (I gave up being neat about storing THEIR stuff after the 40th or 50th time falling down in the dark and tearing clothing/skin)
Later in the day I had gone out that same door to my car, but when I was coming in, I thought I heard a child's voice. I looked around, but didn't see anyone, nor did I expect to. It's a sub-basement and it's in a 200 yr old commercial building in a downtown area. Not the kind of place kids are going to hang around.
So I thought I was hearing things. I ignored it and went back to work. I went out again an hour later and thought I heard "Mommy" . The little hairs on the back of my neck stood up. There's no reason for a child's voice to be coming from the darkest corners of an unlit, unoccupied sub-basement.
"Mommy" the voice said. I swear it did.
[Update] .. Sorry, I forgot to tell everyone how it ended.

Okay, the scariest thing that happened to me was last night. I was watching TV at 1:00 in the morning, the movie was House of Wax. It got to the part where the guy sticks a pole through Paris Hilton's head. All of the sudden, the TV just turned off. The screen flashed right in front of me, so I got really scared. To make it worse, a really loud thunderstorm started and rain splashed against my window. I didn't really get a good night's rest.......

The scariest thing was last week my 2 year old son let go of my hand and ran toward Main St. in Brighton, MI. (A very busy road). I couldn't catch up to him because I broke my ankle a couple weeks ago and was barely able to walk on it, let alone run. Anyway, he ran and ran and I was screaming for him to stop. He stopped right on the edge of the road. I thought for sure my heart was going to stop right there.

I was on the bus on a field trip with a bunch of guys and one other girl. One guy started asking questions about local restaurants, and we got into a discussion about good Mexican food. He mentioned a place off the main highway just past the strip club, and he asked me, "You do know where the strip club is, don't you?"
And I'm like, "Uhm, nooooo!"
(Yeah, right. Me, a chick, go to strip clubs.)
And everybody on the bus just broke up laughing.
