R-rated movies. Just listening to bad music isn't really going to influence them to be bad people. But seeing someone in a movie being "cool" and swearing might make the kid think "Wow, that dude is cool. I want to be just like him." They can see and hear the person instead of just hearing them. It's hard to explain but I get this feeling a lot from people my age.

Hmm. That's a hard comparison since R rated movies can be so very different from each other. Saw is an R rated movie, but so is Schindler's List. Similarly, I've heard some pretty over the top rap songs about selling drugs and being thugs and some that actually have something positive and/or insightful to say. I think parents can't really afford to be lazy and judge things by broad categories; you actually have to pay attention to the message in the media.

Depends on the children. I used to listen to rap all the time when I was a kid, and I didn't turn out bad. I watch rated R movies all the time, and I'm still not a bad person.
That's because my mommy actually paid attention to me when I was a child. :P
It all depends on the parents, really. Parents who just dump their kid with some babysitter all the time, or who sort of EXPECT the kid not to do bad things, so they figure they can leave them alone...that's what ruins kids. Not rap music. Not rated R movies.

I would think R-rated movies, because rap is just signing, and most of the time the child doesn't even understand what they are saying, but in a R-rated movie, you can see the things that makes it r rated..

both are rotten to the core
The only difference is the old generations don't really know how bad the Rap music affect the mind when constantly said over and over about raping women and killing cops affects individuals of the youngers generations. That is called brainwashed.
R-rated movies also brainwashed because there are so many movies to watch until reality hits. Until you see physical dead bodies in front of you, not in the movies.

That's difficult. I don't like either for younger kids, I don't like explicit Rap for anyone, but I think R-rated movies is worse.(really depending on the age and maturity of the child) I have friends who are really messed up. they don't listen to rap, but they watch to many R-rated movies. They're always talking about taking people's eyes out and skinning them alive. It might just be the type of people this group of children are, but I would wait and see how the PETICULAR child is like, and then judge what they are allowed to listen and watch. I've watched R-rated movies all my life and so far I'm fine, but watch out for certain children.

I grew up on R-rated movies and turned out just fine. I never was restricted on what I could watch. My parents just didn't care. I wouldn't think that rap would warp someone's mind.
Just as long as the parents explain what is happening and why it's not ok so go out and do this stuff. If the parents are involved in the childs life, it won't harm them.

R-rated movies for sure!!! You can listen to rap music whenever you want but you have to be 17 to go see an R movie. Akso R-rated movies don't come in a clean version.

Neither.....and neither should be banned if that's what your getting at. It's the parents who should be cautious about what their kids watch or listen to. A lot of people like watching rated R movies and listening to rap, so they should not be punished if parents are not doing their jobs.

lol how can people just say rap music?
"rock and roll is the devil" blah blah blah. R-rated movies have adult things in them, but sometimes its real eye-opening stuff that kids should happen upon once and a while.
rating systems for movies/tv/games are broken. r rated movies and wont necessarily have negative impacts on kids.
rap music can be corny and child-oriented. you cannot say one form of music hurts us all. each artist has a different persona to portray, only the ignorant would assume all of those images are of drug-dealing, gun-toting, ***** naming gangstas.
