you are so right Truth Seeker. Half the answerer don't take the time to read or digest the entire question.,. Here they've named several places on the "globe" but the question was where "we" were fighting...not where the attacks have occurred.

Reading would help you. Kosovo, Darfur, Lebanon, Palestine, Ethiopia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechyna, the Philippines, Indonesia, Uighurs to name some examples of worldwide Muslim terror, not to mention now in Western countries all over the world. That's what the war on terror was supposed to fight. Most countries weren't interested in stopping Muslim terror. The US is doing what it can do with limited help.

Good question in spite of what your first three respondents think. Ninety nine percent of our resources are taken up by out occupations in Iraq and Afghanistan. That doesn't leave much to fight a "Global War on Terror"....

Maybe not with troops on the ground everywhere around the globe.
But with information sharing, and surveillance yes very much so.
Us residents in the "free world" are extremely grateful for this.

Well our military is also helping Ethiopian troops kick al-Qaeda's butt in Somalia.
Thats about the only active military effort going on other than the ones you just mentioned. But we are also pushing to fortify the moderate fatah faction in the West Bank, and pushing Pervez to take out al-Qaeda in Pakistan. Iran, well, hopefully were going to get some tough diplomacy going soon, and we negotiate with our allies constantly to get them to help stamp out terrorism.
And yes, not enough troops.
