The moment I found out I was pregnant I started shopping! I was sooooo excited! By the time I was 3 months preggy the nursery was done :) I will tell you a little tip - Don't spend tons of money on clothing for that little one. They are only in some sizes a few weeks. Shop ebay, yard sales, clearances... I got my best deals at yard sales. Most of the time the clothing is new, or practically new for pennies on the dollar.
Congrats new mommy!!

Here's the advice I give to everybody. There is always a new season, new cute baby clothing that you can't do without, new safety equipment, new, new, new. Unless you need to save money and buy through garage sales, wait until at least 2-3 months before baby arrival to start getting things.
The exception is a crib. I hear that you sometimes have to order 12-14 weeks in advance. You can do with a bassinet or moses basket in the meantime, so don't feel too pressured to get it unless you need a matching furniture set.
Garage sales are GREAT, but Springtime is usually the best time. Still, people are always clearing out or moving. Most newborn stuff is virtually new since, in many cases, it's only been used by one child. I have two packed boxes of baby outfits (newborn through 2 years) of brand name, virtually brand new stuff that is going to my friend that I got at garage sales for her. Total cost was $20. While it's possible she won't be able to use some of the stuff (for instance, the Disney jacket may not work if it's already July and doesn't fit yet), but she would have only 2 outfits from Target for the same price. Easily, there are at least 10 outfits for 5 different sizes.

I bought one or two cute things throughout my pregnancy because I just couldn't resist. However, for the most part I waited until after my baby shower, so I would know what items I still needed and could use the many gift cards I'd gotten.
However, since it's summer now, rummage sales are an awesome way to get gently used baby clothes for small change.

You can start buying but do not go over board. If you are going to have a baby shower I suggest waiting until then to start buying that way you know what else you need to get. I know it's exciting though..when I found out what I was having I'd always go to the baby section when at stores...sometimes I will buy a blanket or something little for my unborn daughter...but I haven't gotten anything major....at least not until after my baby shower but again, buy little things..you are pregnant..enjoy it!

i began out procuring clothing while i replaced into 20 weeks and found out i replaced into having a woman. i'm purely approximately 32 weeks now and my nursery is waiting totally geared up with cot, substitute table, pram, nappies, bathing stuff, an excellent sort of garments, bottles etc etc. i did not choose for to be doing stuff on the final minute. I unquestionably have a million month off at domicile until eventually now the toddler comes so i'm able to easily relax and function some me time....it fairly is going to be large!

I started shopping right away. I bought one pair of booties with each of my kids, until I knew the gender. Then I really went shopping for clothes, blankets, towels, diapers..... Remember you may have a baby shower! I would hold off on buying the big stuff (crib, swing, changing table, stroller...) until after your shower as you will probably get some of it there.

I started buying little stuff almost immediately. Mostly things that are not gender specific. I recommend wal-mart and target, but also like JCPenney and Sears. If you do buy things on clearance that are season specific, you might want to buy them one size bigger than how old your baby will be next summer. If you have outlet stores in your area, that's a great idea, too, great brand-name stuff at lower prices.
