How do I paint my jet ski?

I have Polaris jet ski with the standard white fiber glass hull. I'd like to paint it, a candy apple purple. Do I have to use a gel coat,and can you get it in that type of color?

It already has a gel coat.
You need a paint that will adhere to the gel coat.
You will need to rub down the hull, to remove the shine / staines / oil / gel coat finish.
Then apply the paint.

BUT when you come to sell, most people will wonder why you have painted it, and what you are trying to cover up.
