Because most people are too lazy to explore deeper into finding true music. They just sit down and listen to whatever the radio feeds them or from what they see from the television. Since the songs on the radio gets played over and over again repeatedly numerous times it sorts of...well...has this brainwashing effect into making you think that it is "real" and "good" music. But one of the biggest reason why the radio stations do this is because they want $$$ CASH! Therefore they know the majority of the population fall for this and buy into this, therefore they get their cash.

It's all about $$$....It's also about these so called big broadcasting conglomerates that come in and purchase a station for untold amounts of money, change the music formats, get rid of your favorite air personalities and hire consultants to make you believe that listening to the new music on their station is better than what you were listening to.

I was in this business for twenty years. When this stuff started to occur to me, I got out of it big time because it was no fun anymore. Now I hardly listen to radio anymore because of this reason. Maybe someday it will get better, but I'm not going to hold my breath.
