how coudl I go about making new friendships. I'm not a club person at all, where can I go? I've a deep interest in the arts.

It's not a mistake... It's that people don't adhere to the same standards as you. Don't make the mistake of dropping down to their level. Good and kind people are becoming fewer and fewer and that sucks. There are different organizations through schools and your community you can join in order to meet people with the same interests as you.

You've partly answered your own question. Since you have an interest in the arts, try going to the theater/opera. If you're not a member of a gym, consider joining one. Those are 2 methods of meeting new friends. Good luck.
