Warren Moon-won 5 Grey Cups (in 1978, 1979, 1980 MVP, 1981 and 1982 MVP) the CFL equivalent of the Superbowl. Phenomenal regular season QB. In his final CFL season of 1983, Moon threw for a league record 5,648 yards, and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award. 9 Pro bowls. He was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2001 and was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, becoming both the first undrafted quarterback and the first African-American quarterback to be so honored. Tennessee retired his number Oct 1st 2006 and October 29th the Kansas City Chiefs also retired his number. Combining his NFL and CFL stats, Moon's numbers are staggering: 5,357 completions for 70,553 yards and 435 touchdowns, all of which are massively higher than the NFL records for each category. Even if his Canadian League statistics are discounted, Warren Moon's career is still exceptional: 3,988 completions for 49,325 yards (the fourth-highest in NFL history), 291 touchdown passes, 1,736 yards rushing, and 22 rushing touchdowns.

Brett Favre. Soon to be career leader in wins, TDs, yards, and completions. Also the only 3 time MVP in NFL history. That said, numbers can't describe him. When you see him injure 2 defenders in the same game because he laid their asses out on blocks, thats when you really appreciate him! He is not polished like a Joe Montana, but man is that one fun iron man hillbilly to watch.
Side note, on a less obvious current star. Tony Romo delivers a HELL of a ball. He could be a really fun guy to watch over the next 10 years. I'm a Packer backer and hate the Cowboys, but I'll bet $1000 he beats Aikman's single season TD and yardage mark next year (possibly by Thanksgiving)!

I grew up watching and loving Roger Staubach. I thought he was the greatest I had seen. I missed having a player to really follow for about 15 years. Then Brett Favre came along! WOW! This guy is probably not just the best QB, but the best football player who ever lived! They should just disband the NFL when he retires. FAVRE IS FOOTBALL !!

My favorite of all time is Steve Young. Although steve young played in joe montana's shaddow for the earlier part of career, he managed to shine when he finally got his chance to play. As a result he managed to run Montana out of SF. I know some may argue that Joe Montana has 4 rings, but steve was able to keep SF super bowl contenders in the 90's. History has told us that when great QB's leave or retire the sucess of that team usually fails shortly after. Steve made a name for himself.
