Truths don't have to be believable. They just ARE.
Lies, on the other hand, DO have to be believable. And consequently, they are usually much more so than the truth.
So it goes.

Truth is different for different people. What is true to you might not be to someone else. There are absolute truths, facts that you can't deny, but most things in the world, most of the things that really matter from day to day, must be discovered by the individual and you must decide to believe in it for it to become truth.

If the boundaries of truth can be found in whether a premise can be disproven, then truth needn't be believable.
On the other hand, all the packages with the label, "TRUTH" on the outside don't have a lot to do with the actuality of truth. The labels were placed there by a series of choices by human beings to call them that, then to pass them on to others after repackaging and relabelling with the word, "TRUTH".
Packages with the label don't appear to have to believable to be believed by multitudes, forsaken by other multitudes.
But the actual quality of truth doesn't appear to pay a lot of attention to whether the human mind finds it believable, or doesn't.
When that quality is defining itself it doesn't take a vote of humans, then settle down to become what the largest number of voters thought it should be.

PLEASE do not let yourself be deceived into thinking that truth is relative. That's the very definition of truth--that there is nothing else that can be defined as such. This is in no way close-minded thinking. People who say there are no absolutes have killed their own argument--the very statement that there are no absolutes is in fact, an absolute. And if that one exists, then it's possible for others to exist: death, for instance.
As far as truth being relative, would you stand silent while a man raped your mother because it was "right for him?" I should hope you wouldn't. It's called a higher law, and it exists whether you want to believe it or not. It is seen in conscience as well as man-made laws. Has your conscience ever told you that stealing a nice car is okay? Have ANY man-made laws ever promoted murder or theft?
Don't discard my thoughts as "close-minded" (I've tried everything at least once) or "religious" (I am NOT religious). These are the things I truly believe in.

As Mark Twain once remarked, a good lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth finishes putting its shoes on. Considering the number of people who still believe in creationism, I'd say he was right on the money. Truth exists independent of our beliefs. Belief is just glorified and sanctified opinion, but it unfortunately also exists independent of truth. As long as truth and belief are independent of each other, it is up to each of us to choose what we can know to be true, over what we wish were true.

Depends upon whose truths you are talking about. I believe my truths...most of which I will still be searching for when I die. The truths of popular opinion....do I even have to comment on how badly that smells?
So....whose truths?

Truth is universal. There is right and wrong. Many people are very clever at presenting a lie as truth, it is called fraud. Truth is up to you. Your research is up to you. Our basis is moral, ethical and the values we put in place.. We are responsible for our actions and how they affect us and others. Blessings on you.

(physical reality) - (empirical reality) = faith
Faith is destroyed if it works. If you have faith you can only be denied. Test of faith! What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence.
