We have been trying to conceive for a few months now. My husband had a high fever for a couple of days a month and a half ago.

Any fever that lasts for a week or so will affect the sperm count and morphology. This is true particularly in case of typhoid and mumps viral fever. The last one is more detrimental to the sperm production.

My husband and I have been trying to fall pregnant for the past 2 1/2 years and one of the main things we have been told is that a fever can have a bad reaction to sperm production/morpholigy.
It takes around 3 months for the testes to produce sperm and have them mature enough to impregnate an ovulating woman.
Have you had his count checked? I know that some chemists sell home sperm analysis tests although a GP or a path lab would give a better count though.

I wouldn't stress though it can take a normal 'healthy' couple with no endometriosis, polycystic ovaries or sperm issues up to 8 months to fall pregnant. It is recommended to see a fertility specialist after 12 months as there may be an underlying cause.

Here hoping for 2 blue lines for you.

Fever and the drugs so prescribed can adversely affect sperm production and quality and thus reduce fertility. Once the person is fit these changes usually recover over a few weeks.

A fever did not effect his sperm in any way. Everything has been up and running all along.
