after about 5 years with my pc and xp lappy, with the new mac os comming out and whatnot, i am dazzled at the capabilities and i absolutely love the machines themselves, they are so beautifull! so, is there anything vital i can do on a pc that i cant do on a mac? like downloading torrents, and lac of software compatibility? thanks!! or, if your not a mac fanboy or girl, would you recomend vista? i admitt, when i saw vista on microsoft months before it came out, i was BREATHLESS! its just so beautifull and amazing, but supposedly mac is easier and i see all the smart people with them so i kinda want one know. so what do you recomend?

yes u can still use bittorents, and limewire. if u need to u can also run windows, so there is no reason y u would not want 1. i am an apple fanboy, but i like vista, i will like it more wen microsoft fixes all the bugs. u can get a mac, and run vista on it. yes mac is eaisier to use, but windows has more compatibility with programs. i have both on my macbook pro, but i use mac os x much more often, i only use vista wen i want to play games.

Your new Mac can install a version of Windows XP or Vista on it, and thus there is absolutly no disadvantages.
Your Question in detail (while running OS X):
is there anything vital i can do on a pc that i cant do on a mac?: Not really Modern Games won't usually run on OS X.
like downloading torrents: Azurious has a Mac Version
would you recomend vista?: I would duel boot Vista on the Mac.
mac is easier and i see all the smart people with them so i kinda want one know.: Mac are used designed for people who don't want to fiddle with setting they just want it to work. But yet has the power to allow for advanced configuration.

First, don't believe all the hype about Macs. They are computers. Just because you have one doesn't mean you're smart. It just means you have a Mac. Additionally, my experience with OSX, limited as it is, makes me think that a Mac is not easier than Windows, especially if you're thoroughly used to Windows.
With that said, aside from 3-D gaming (this is because game developers tend to not port games to the Mac, or to take their time when they do port them) and things like CADD, you can do pretty much everything on a Mac that you can on a PC. The thing is you're going to have to relearn how do things since OSX is substantially different from MS Windows. You're also going to have to find Mac versions of the software you use. Some of that will be taken care of by software Apple provides with the computer, but other things will require you to do some digging.
As for Vista... I haven't heard anyone say anything good about it. The best I've heard is that it didn't seem that bad. Most of the stuff I've seen from pundits, aside from Paul Thurrott, leads me to believe that if you can, it is probably best to wait for Vista SP1 to come out sometime early next year before getting a Vista system.

personally I loved the macs and may one day get one for home use.........now that they are much more compatible with PC formats and there is better software out there, it would be a better choice I think. Windows 98 was the best software that MS put out, but after that, with all the autoupdates and virus loophools it sucks with xp or anything else. My experiences with the Mac systems, that they rarely ever crashed and just were such a neat operating system to use.....I think you find it much more satisfying to use. Enjoy.

Go with the mac!
I have an XP, but I've seen the things that Macs do and yes, it is amazing. They really are a lot alike, and the Macs have less viruses and spyware (even though that might change soon).
Your not gonna miss much from an XP to a Mac.
(and BTW, macs upgrades are FREE! ex go from 9.0 to 11.0. unlike windows xp to vista is $200)
Hope this helps your idea!

The world is run by PCs. Having a Mac will put you at a disadvantage. Oh, and all of the software that you used with your PC machines, you'll have to go out and buy Mac versions of them. Stick with PC.
