Well, Gee, can't imagine how that guy ended up being your EX!!! Oi, what a jerk! Was he serious?? I dunno what to tell you...I'm still reeling that he's comparing his wife and his sister...gross.
From a mature perspective, you could've found out what he liked about his sis' cooking, and parenting skills, and let him know you've filed that away under "Things My Husband Likes" to do later.
But, to just flat out say, "Can you be as good a Mom as her?" I mean, it could've been a compliment for his sis, but what are you supposed to say? You haven't had kids yet....

If you are still upset by a question that your EX asked you when first got married, I can only imagine how you dealing with the last argument that led to the divorce. Get over it. If you didn't think of the correct response by then, what is the use of dwelling on it now? Take your life back lady!!!

I would have said"I will do my best, I can always learn and I'm sure if I ask nice though, your sis will give me a few tips".
His sister must have set a very good example for him to want a wife like his sister. That says a lot about her.

i think is sweet that he thinks a lot of his sister. but in another way he doesnt need to shove things in your face after all maybe you would've been a better mom than her who knows but dont let it eat at you just let the next one deal with him and you deal with yourself.

This is your EX husband, and you still care? Stop being so sensitive and get over these small slights.

I would have said, "I'll be the best parent and spouse as I can be. Won't you do the same?"
