America's ruling class wants to slowly move to a global government and world-wide monetary system. Since it's the wealthy elitists who control our government "behind the scenes", they have already determined who our next President will be (probably at the 2006 Bilderberg Convention).
Most likely scenario: the Bush administration will be ordered to illegally attack Iran, just as it did Iraq (and for the same reasons: OIL and WAR PROFITEERING). Just before the '08 elections, another staged 'terrorist attack' will occur on American soil (this time in the Midwest, most likely Chicago or St. Louis).
Bush will then be ordered to declare martial law, claiming that a change in administrations would not be in the best interests of national security. Because thousands will die, Americans will blindly follow along, demanding that the government keep us 'safe'. This will give the government henchmen time to 'win' the wars in Iraq and Iran and groom Jeb Bush for a run at the Presidency. -RKO- 07/05/07

That's for sure. President Bush will never change his mind about Iraq and he does not care whether or not his Republican friends will be affected by his decision. He will not lose anything anyway because he is not running for any government office in 2008.

One major terrorist attack in the US and the people of the US will remember why a Republican is in the White House now. It will remind them that we are at war and that it is better to fight that war in Iraq than on main street USA. If the attack comes after a democrat is elected, then the US is in trouble because the dem president will try to have peace talks with the terrorists while they blow up our cities one by one.

I think you are right, errr, correct! I am conservative, and I lost faith in my party. I think the democrat elected in '08 will still keep us in Iraq, only because it's basically impossible to leave it like it is. We (Americans) would not be safe here or anyplace else in the world if we left Iraq now (not that we are safe now overseas like we are at home).

They might, but since the Media is about 80-90% Democrat. They will never let you know how important it (Iraq) really is. I think it will be the media defeating the Rep.'s more than them allowing themselves to loose.

If they win they will have to figure out how to pay for the war.
If they loose they can sit on thier butts and whine about the next guy having to raise taxes for the trillions they have squandered.

I think it will be a combination of Iraq, the normal desire for change, and thus far unexciting candidates.
