Im guessing you are refering to 256Kb/s.
That is about 6x's faster then the best dialup connection.
It will take you approx. 1 hour to download a 856Mb movie....

The bank width is 256 kbps which is bits per second. The transfer speed for files is listed as bytes per second. to get the speed divide 256 by 8 = 32. thats 32 kilobytespersecond.
to find the transfer time for the file 856 mb = 856* 1024 = 876544 kilobytes. divide this by 32 = 27392 seconds to transfer this file. 27392 seconds divided by 60 seconds per minute will give you 456minutes. 456 divided by 60 minutes per hour = 7.6 hours to transmit. just remember this is a best case scenerio. not taking accound that the upload and download speeds are different as well as error checking info and having to resend bad packets will increase the time
