When is the best time to visit Colorado?

I am considering going in early October. Will it be snowing and hard to get around?

You should be OK. There is a chance of seeing some snow in the upper elevations, of course. I saw two inches in Breckenridge in June one morning.

The main roads are plowed well, so getting around shouldn't be a huge issue unless you head for a really small town. The sun usually melts the fall snows quickly.
