of a 2005 Chevy Silverado k1500. It is a 4 wd off road double cab pickup.

I no longer have the truck. It was stolen a couple of weeks ago. And in order to finish my ins claim I need the transmission size. Yes it is Automatic.

Please call you local chevy dealership.Give the parts dept the last 8 of your vin number.They will tell you everything you need to know about your truck.Hope this helps.

Feel like crawling under the truck? You might need to wipe off some dirt, oil, or goop.

If it's a manual tranny the "unit number" will be stamped on the rear face of the case, passenger side.

If it's an automatic, you'll find it on a plate on the passenger side of the tranny.

Once you have the tranny numbers, your dealership can ID it for you or you might be able to Google the numbers to get an answer.

a 2500 silverado 4x4 has a 4l80e auto trans. the 4l60e was used in lightduty s-10 pickups

I imagine you have still have something with the vin # on it,take that to a dealer,explain you dilemma and they will probably print you off the option list on that vehicle.it;s as easy as that
