cause you know when you go in you say 40 on 5 ($40 on pump 5) and just leave. is it ok if i ask for a receipt or something. does arco, chevron, shell, 76, all do receipts? cause i know you can get a receipt with a debit or credit card but can you get one with cash? anybody ever try?

You usually have to ask for a receipt from a gas station no matter how you pay. I always get a receipt and have never had problems when paying cash. If they can print a receipt for one form of payment, they can print one for any form of payment. I have even received receipts at the counter after paying at the pump when the printer in the pump was out of order.

I pay in cash most times and get a receipt as long as I ask for one. So the answer is yes-you should always be able to get a receipt for cash.

Yes. I just got back from a business trip, and I needed the receipts I got from a gas station I frequented in order to do my expense report.

ANYWHERE that you pay cash should give you a receipt (and I think is required) if you ask.

Yes of course...it would be illegal if they didn't give a reciept when you asked for one.....
thats like not gettin one at a groceary store.....
you can most deffinetly get one!!!!
you just have to ask..
some give it if you stand there and dont leave right away...

yes you can get it if you want. Usually people don't ask for it because they throw it away anyway
