Imhotep
He is considered the Father of Medicine as well as being an accomplished artist, carpenter, stonemason, architect, astronomer and engineer.
He would be the ancient Egyptian equivalent of Steven Hawking, Albert Einstein, or Leonardo Da Vinci

We saw a museum exhibit last year about Hapshepsut (sp?), the first female pharaoh. Very interesting story! That would make a good film. I understand just recently they found a mummy that they thought was her.
Also I read a book earlier this year, Pillar of Fire by Judith Tarr. It was a historical novel, the story of the Exodus of the Hebrews from Egypt as told from the viewpoint of a Hittite slave girl who was the pharaoh's daughter's servant. It was a really good book with an interesting twist on the story. And it was more about the Egyptians than the Hebrews. It might make a good film.

Now I've heard everything. This is a costume party wedding! Now guests have to rent something to wear to fit the theme? What next? Does anyone else think it's boorish to make your wedding guests work so hard? People generally don't even really like weddings that much, unless they're part of the immediate family. More effort goes into the wedding than into the marriage. This trend toward crazy, over the top weddings is not cool. Bridezilla usually is the one behind it and it sucks the life out of everyone involved and the costs could be a downpayment on a house.

I have this vague memory of an Isis themed superhero show when i was a kid... I would love to see some try that and make it into a blockbuster superhero movie with some hot, young unknown (at least to American audiences) Egyptian actress.

Hatshepsut, the greatest female ruler of ancient Egypt. If you want some excitement well, here was a female ahead of her time. She dressed like a man and even wore a false beard. She was also the most prolific builder of ancient Egypt. There had to be lots of drama about her because after she died her brother went to the trouble of erasing all evidence of her. What a little weenie.
