From the answer above, Camp Pendleton is not in San Diego; it is about 45 minutes north in San Clemente. San Diego has a training center downtown, and also the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar. I don't know the address, but I know it isn't Camp Pendleton.

YOU DON'T HAVE A MARINE, WOMAN! HE BELONGS TO THE CORPS, NOT YOU! HE'S MARRIED TO THE CORPS, SLEEPS WITH HIS WEAPON, AND SUSTAINS HIMSELF ON MAGGOTS AND RODENTS! SEMPER FI! Just kidding. Picture R Lee Ermy shouting that at you, nose to nose. Semper fi, though. Keep the home fires burning. When he landed in boot camp, he was given 30 seconds to call someone to say he arrived alive. After that, his head will be so screwed up for the next couple of weeks from drill instructors yelling at him that he won't even think about when to piss, let alone writing a letter. Give him two weeks, then he will write and give you his address. Right now, he is experiencing the greatest shock he has ever known. He may think about you and his previous life all the time, but he is being subjected to constant harassment, mental anguish and torture, sleep deprivation, and physical pain. Three days ago, he was sleeping on his own schedule, playing video games, feeding the cows and horses, roaming the projects, hanging on the golf course, flipping burgers, or whatever. Today he is surviving on four hours sleep per night, learning to spit-shine leather and polish brass, low-crawling through mud, doing push-ups for looking in the wrong direction, having a stray string on his uniform, etc. He is in Hell, right now. He'll get back to you when he can take a breath. He is in survival mode, right now. This is the week that he becomes a real man. On Sunday, he was a mentally weak child. Next Sunday, he will either be a tough-minded man or be kicked out as a weak-minded child. He must put you out of his head in order to survive. Trust me, he will contact you as time allows. If you want to be with a Marine, you have to accept that not knowing is part of the job.
