marraiges work? and not in the old sense where the parents set the couple together. but in the sense two grown adults deciding to enter marraige as a commitment. for security, to help raise each other's children and because they know that anything could be better than the last relationships they were in. they are also attracted to each other but they both know either one of them is "in love". could this work?

In other words, a business partnership. Has the same odds as any other union, it'll only work if both parties put in the effort to make it so.

This is a very complex question but the answer is simple, I believe, anyway...it depends on the two people involved...the scenarios are so many who is to really know? Tough one to try and answer. Are you contemplating it? if so, write down pros and cons and before you leap, be honest with yourself and do what is best for you and your children...think: is this healthy for my children? for me?
I agree with DJ it's not an arranged marriage but one of convenience..in the long run; will it really be convenient?..human emotions are so complex, it would take a lot for me to jump into an arrangement such as this - most specially if it was an intimate one.

In American, doubtful. It would sure take a lot of work and what happens if one of them does fall in love with someone?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "work". I mean you can make the best of it, but I think you'd always be wondering if you could have something better.

I wouldn't want to live my life that way,I'd hate to think I was a person my husband just settled for, or I was living with some one that I just settled for. Your just asking for a miserable life.
