If you have free nights after 9 p.m. then NO the minutes are not coming out of your plan. Now if the call is initiated before 9 p.m. this is possible. Say the call started at 8:55 and you talk an hour the whole 60 minutes will more than likely come out of your plan minutes. So make sure it is 9 or after before the call is placed/accepted.

Calls made after 9 pm do not use any airtime on the standard family share plan so would not cause you to have overage. The calls that you make and receive Monday through Friday during the day would take away from the shared minutes. If you want to keep track of how many minutes you are using, you can dial #MIN (#646) from your phone and it sends a free text message to your phone (or you can stay on the line and listen) that tells you approximately how many minutes you have used so far in the current bill cycle. The Peak minutes are the ones that deduct from your shared minute allowance. Your mom can also look online or on the bill to see how many peak minutes each phone used.

I would get your mom to look up your cell phone plan and see when the free minutes are. I am not aware of any Verizon plans that do not offer free minutes on nights and weekends. Also it might be helpful to actually look at the bill and see who is using up all the minutes.

Have you also considered the possiblity that your mom just doesnt want you to use the phone and is making up that excuse?

Ask for a complete summary of your bill which includes all calls and what day and time they were made. Even if you call your boyfriend one minute before 9pm, you will still be charged for minutes even if its after 9pm. Make sure you always wait at least 5 or 10 minutes after 9pm to talk to him. That way you will not be charged for minutes that started a minute or two before 9pm. Getting the complete summary will give you an answer. If the summary does not show what is going on, then a phone call to a supervisor must be made.

700 minutes is ridiculous to split between 4 people in the first place but if you are talking after 9pm (and your minutes after 9 are unlimited) then you are ONLY using the free night and wknd minutes and they have nothing to do with overages because they are unlimited. If you don't have unlimited night & wknd minutes then you could still have overages if you go over the night & wknd limit.
