It is the best system in the world. Did you see the MDs the U.K. had to import on the News?
2007 health care costs a lot more than 1967 health care because it is much better. I would rather pay a little more for the best doctors, best nurses, best techs, best research, best machines, best medicines in the world.
I would rather be taken to a U.S. hospital in an emergency than anywhere else in the world.
Cost should be reduced and new technology always helps but the system works and I hope the pols don't break it.
If you are old or poor, care is taken care of. It is hard on the middle class, but remember we are also carrying 20 million illegals on our back.
Our multi-ethnic and multi-racial society creates some challenge that are not faced in other countries but we are assimilating and working together better.

No government can. To make a system work you need incentives. People without incentives don't want to improve, don't try to do anything beyond the minimum necessary to get their paychecks. There's no incentives in governments. They don't have to work hard for the money they need. Whatever the government needs, it takes from your pocket. It doesn't value the money because it doesn't work for it. So it wastes it without control.
If you want good health care, go to the market and ask for it. People looking for profit is going to give you what you want if you pay what they want. Without government intervention and regulations, the market will find its way, its right level of service for the right level of price.

The drug indusry has the biggest lobbying gimmick to keep the gov officials attention on money and not health matters. All I do now is fight to get the benefits I pay for! My newest problem is the stupid rx donut hole.I would love to send a couple of rx bills to DC and see how they handle deciding what you can afford on SSI while paying my way out!

Too many people don't take care of themselves, too many people in poor health and too many people trying to rip the system off.
