Normally the president would be taken from the class room and taken to a highly secret and protected facility. But our president just sat there, like he knew he was safe? How did he know he was safe? I smell a rat!

Why pay attention to anything Michael Moore has to say?
The President had no reason to run amuck and cause panic in the school, so he finished what he was doing. After all, he had every right to expect that the FBI, CIA, and the military were prepared to take care of any emergency. What was the President supposed to do, grab a gun and offer to take the terrorists on by himself? That's just not practical. Suppose the attack had happened in Rome? What would you expect the Pope to do?
This whole question has been brought up for purely political reasons, maybe not by you, but certainly by Michael Moore and the President's many politically motivated opponents.

What was he to do. Jump up and fly to the tower himself. Until the country's intelligence agencies were able to identify the threat the Secret Service wanted the President to stay where he was. As soon as they assessed the threat they wanted to get him to a safe spot. If my child was in the class I would of wanted the president to do what he did not get up and say "Masses of people are dying" and scare my child have to death. This part of 9/11 movie was probably the dumbest thing for Moore to argue about. Any president in similar circumstances would have been asked by his staff and the Secret Service to do the exact same thing.

Exactly what should he have done? I'm no Bush-lover, don't get me wrong, but if you're in a classroom of 1st graders, what do you do? Jump up in a panic? Scream? Faint?
Yes, he probably should have handed the story off to someone else and left the room. This was a crisis situation. Most people don't behave well in a crisis. Yes, our president should be able to handle a crisis, but we made a poor choice. But again I ask, what should he have done that couldn't wait 10 minutes to finish the story? It's not like he's Superman who can fly there and blow out the fire. It's not like he was even going to come up with the action plan on his own -- someone else handles that and we all know it.
Bush stayed there to keep the kids calm and show a calm front to the people around him. Someone else was busy handling the necessary details. I think its time to move on.

It appears that it was the 2nd tower being hit that he was informed of. Bush has made the claim that he saw the first tower being hit on the TV before he went into the classroom. Which is an odd thing to claim because there is only one known video capture of the 1st tower being hit and that was not released to the public until several days after 9/11.
Yes Bush should have excused himself and left. Any normal person would think that the country might be under attack and immediate action should be taken. Unless you knew what was happening before it even happened.

And each donut Michael Moore consumed did he ever consider the risk he placed himself in? He is over 400lbs. A self admitted obese man that needs change in his life. That says more to me now. He is finally taking responsibility for himself. Please do, as his words got a nation all rilled up. Whose payroll is he on? Maybe now he has developed a conscience? His life depends on an altered diet. Perhaps altered film choices next?
Bush, what exactly could he have done? And where were the car placements? I watch 24. You gotta check out the perimeter b4 you move the target. SO assume he is safest just where he was until an all clear. WHY do y'all assume you have the high level clearance to know what the frick u speak of? Sorry. In my opinion the best was done as expected. Except the CIA FBI "screwed the pooch" that is a quote from films... here. And as they did allowing the planes to get to crash sites in the first place?? When they had prior warnings of significant threats b4. Like during Clinton days. Sorry he hid in closets and was too busy. Better to be busy with children then behave like one. Thank you.

There were already people doing something about the situation. Besides, that's the last thing you want from a leader is panic. Especially before you know all the details. You should seriously stop listening to Michael Moore. You might be surprised that your IQ will go up about 10 points.

What should his response have been? Is there some checklist or exact protocol for the President when something of this magnitude occurs? What was he going to do exactly, jump in Air Force One and chase down planes?
If he would have jumped up and ran out of the room, liberals would have called him a big sissy and rushed in to counsel the poor kids that were left behind in the classroom, afraid that they were traumitized.
No matter what he did, someone like Moore will take it and put his little take on it. If someone had a camera on Mr. Moore when this went down, I bet he would have wet himself if he were in New York, or trampled dozens of people to death trying to leave the city.

Yes, he should have jumped up and down and screamed to the kids, "WE ARE UNDER ATTACK"
What did you do when you heard? Did it take a minute to sink in? Did you realize we were under attack?
You should also listen to the NORAD tapes, which show that even the controllers did not realize what was happening until minutes after the second plane hit.
By the way, that movie is full of flat out lies, and it has been proven so.
I suggest, if you took the time to watch the movie, you take the time to read dave kopels report on it. It wiil take less time than the movie, and you will see what a lying piece of partisan garbage Michael Moore is.
He sites his sources, so it is easy to verify everything he disputes in Michaels moore lies:

When a plane hit the first tower, it seemed like an accident. When a plane hit the second tower--the accident theory was over.
