In the comics and movies, there are superheros that are strong, that can fly, that can swim, that can turn into animals, that have esp, that can leap tall buildings in a single bound. But why is there no superhero with superhuman intelligence? Is it because our society does not value intelligence? Is it because writers are not smart or cleaver enough to write a story in which some character uses intelligence to solve a problem? Or is there such a superhero that I don't know about?

Because it doesn't appeal to people in the same way. I know I would rather read a comic about a superhero that is strong and brave, who can fly and morph into things, not a superhuman intelligent superhero who will do math equations to solve the problems of the world. It just sounds boring.

No, it is because all of them wear tights and are men, the tights restrict the blood flow to their brain and they cannot think clearly.
Ok Ok JK.
I think it is just a given that they are all smart, they can evalulate their situations in a split second and decide what they can do to help the problem. They are not taught what to do , nor do they go out of a situation handbook, also they do not take the time a stop to ask someone what they should do.

They are smart because they work on the fly and help people without hesitation. To use most of their tools (like Batman) he must know some type of mathmatics and physics to know how to use them. Just because superhuman intelligence isn't in their titles doesn't mean they do not have it.

There are a few superheros with super intelligence as there power, just research ur marvel or DC characters. Most of them are less well known though.Theres this one guy who can do things like deflecting guided missles just by holding a mirror in the exact posistion. He tracks the hulks movements and knows where he'll land when he takes off just by doing the math in his head.Even those with super powers like u suggested are geniuses.Wizard, Mr fantastic, Bruce Banner,Franklin Richard, Peter Parker, Batman(it's not just his belt),Tony Stark aka Iron man(He created the battle suits) and there are some more out there especially those without the powers and still manage to be "super"

Because the writer of the comic would need to come up regularly with "superintelligent" schemes to showcase her/his hero.

And that is much more demanding than making the hero do physical stuff.

If there have been the type of hero, then why even worry having heroes? Heroes are meant to motivate desire, braveness, and faith. Intelligence grows from adventure, adventure comes from annoying situations, without annoying situations there is not any probability of workout theory...
