If its porcelin, paint will have a hard time sticking to it. You will need to buy some primer and add a coat to the entire pig (do this in a well ventilated area). I suggest white if you are going to use water colors on top of the primer. Several arts and crafts stores and scrap booking stores sell stencils, but the best way to apply paint with a stencil is to use an air brush gun. You can use a brush, but you need to make sure you outline the stencil, remove it, then fill in with paint would be the best way instead of trying to hold the stencil in place.

After decorating you art creation, you will need to seal it with a glossy coat. There are spray on flat sealer, glossy shiny sealers, and shint or flat selaers that you can apply with a paint brush.

you can use ceramic paints on the pig.
i don't know if you want to use a spray paint unless you can control it w/stencil use
after you are done painting you can spray it with a gloss clear spraypaint sealant. should be avail in the same craft store or lowes/home depot etc
