That's easy. It's because the media loves democrats. The media is made up of democrats. The media sources that are fair and balanced do not care to waste 5 hours explaining a politicians family problems. That's why no one watches CNN anymore. The other side can spend hours debating and trying to resolve matters that will help this country but for some reason people are more interested in how "bad" we have it in America. A good example would be : When clinton was in office nothing he did mattered because "It's the economy stupid" (remember?). Now that the Bush economy is even better than that of clinton's, the economy is not a factor for the media. The sad fact is that the democrats need tax dollars ,hand it out to voters and buy power (because their policies do not gain any intelligent votes) and the left wing media has chosen sides (check out the campaign donor lists).
I have a question for the liberal media and the democratic party: I grew up poor. We had a big floor tv with rabbit ears that recieved 3 channels, ABC CBS and NBC, (all liberal) Luckily for me they were not biased back then. Now, after alot of hard work and not being told how much help I should be getting from the government, I have internet, cable and satellite. I have other outlets to get "news" from now.
My question is : A large portion of your voting base which you pander to is the poor. When all broadcast goes digital in a few years, and all broadcast requires a digital tv, how will you get your message out to your voting base? Will the democrats get digital tv's to the poor? Al Gore tried to wire all poor schools to the internet? I think a great alternative would be free AM radios for the poor. Call it the Free Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck social program.

It's definitely in the news.
Gore is not President of the United States. He didn't fight hard enough for it, so now he is just a private citizen, right?
The children of the President are going to get more attention than the children of a private citizen, even if he is fairly prominent.
I don't really accept your premise that the Bush twins got more news coverage. Seems like the Gore thing is getting a lot of ink.

It was on the front page, so I guess that's at least as big as the Bush twins.
Personally I think it's bigger news than the Bush twins. Gore doesn't have the FBI/CIA/Secret Service to clean up after his kids.
But it's okay. Al Gore number 3 can still run for president with a DUI.

Well, Al Gore is not the President of the U.S. as we speak? And, how the hell can I consider him "my" President? That was almost 4 years ago, "we" have gotten over it, why can't you? As you know, you have only so much control over you're children at that age especially with jobs that require a massive amount of time away from the family. I never faulted "you're" President over the twins indiscretions....get over it.

well i dont consider al gore my president, can i still answer?
i will do so anyway. it might be because al gore is not in office and many ppl dont see his arrest to be as influential. also, the bush TWINS, that means there were two ppl involved and twice the publicity.

It isn't as big a news story because Al Gore isn't in politics right now. He's just spewing alot of hot air. Maybe that's our solution: get rid of algore and all the politicians. It wouldn't work anyway. We'd still have lawyers.

Well, first off the Bush family has a long history of alcoholism, and the Bush daughters are just another fine example of it.
Second, they were also busted for drugs (cocaine I believe). Great leadership in the American War on Drugs from the most public family in the nation.
Third, Gore's kid was charged w/ possession of pot. Hell, half the country thinks Marijuana should be legal. Why is it surprising? Pot is everywhere.

Because we expect better behavior from the Bushes, not to mention some correlation between words and deeds. Not true of the Gores (except perhaps Tipper).
