13 day olds need touch and closeness to fall asleep. They have just emerged from a very close and protected environment into a wide open and empty one. No matter what anyone says you can't spoil a child by holding it - touching and just loving it - it needs lots of touch for helathy development. Good Luck and enjoy your baby!

Yes, totally. 13 days their little tummies are so small that they have to eat often, and they are just starting to get the hang of things. I would say around 3 months it starts to get more scheduled when the baby sleeps- and even then- they can't go longer than 3-4 hours without eating, so you'll have a midnight feeding for a while. Good luck! Congrats on your new bundle!

PS. swaddle wrapping and baby wearing (in a sling) can really help babies fall asleep better. You can look those up on the Internet or ask your pediatrician. It worked miracles for my girl-

there is an less demanding way... introduce it slowly and don't enable him CIO. My son replaced into 6 months old while he began sleeping in his crib. until eventually now he slept in the two his bassinet/co-sleeper, bouncy chair or in my palms or on my chest. My son does not choose for that lower back rubbing element with the aid of his side- he needed me to hold him so I did. If i replaced into contained in the room on a similar time as he replaced into in his crib, he might scream like he replaced into being murdered. i began out out with the aid of putting him in his crib for naps (after he fell asleep in my palms.) while he might awaken, i might pass away him to play in there for about 15-20 minutes or each time he might fuss for me. If he woke crying, I continuously went and have been given him. evening replaced into a similar habitual- enable him sleep in my palms then placed him down. the factor replaced into so as that he does not be so fearful of being on my own and that his crib replaced into for relax. while he awoke in his crib, he would desire to grow to hearken to to it on a similar time as he replaced into properly-rested and non violent- not over-drained and cranky. At 365 days, i replaced into in a position for the 1st time to place him in his crib and function him soothe himself to sleep. he's 17 months now and has been doing it ever on account that (apart from teething- he has a not basic time falling asleep then.) i'm no expert nonetheless and that they are all diverse. I got here approximately upon this with the aid of twist of destiny- regularly through fact i replaced into too a lot of a wimp to enable him CIO. he's purely 3 months old so purely take it gradual- it is not basic yet he will regulate.
