I was born with huge boobs. I've alway always hated it, because I cannot go bra-less, and I have all sorts of troubles fitting into bathing suit tops, tank tops, and cannot wear anything strapless or even with spagetti straps. In addition, I have to wear those ugly "matronly bras" and the straps hurt my shoulders and my back. I am also very active physically, and having big boobs gets in the way. As far as guys are concerned, I'm attracted to athletic guys, and most athletic guys like athletic women - not voluptuous women. I always wanted to have little ones so I could go braless and wear little tank tops. The only alternative is getting a breast reduction, but I've heard that that it's very painful process and takes a long time to heal. Any suggestions?

I had a reduction many years ago. It was one of the BEST things I ever did for myself. It did not hurt at all, healed quickly and let me do a whole lot of things that I couldn't do comfortably before. I have never regretted it for one second.

Do it only for yourself. Don't let anyone's comments be a deciding factor. High school is a horrid place. The real world is not like that. You can dress a big chest "down" with the right clothes so it's not so obvious. Try shirts without buttons, structured jackets, that sort of thing. You might want to look at a plus-sized store (like Lane Bryant) even if you're not "plus-sized" because they will have shirts that won't gap at the buttons. I'd only recommend a breast reduction if you have back pain, your bra straps dig into your shoulders, and they're really an annoyance for you. You should also look into getting a good bra fitting. The right bra can give you more comfort and even make them look smaller. But don't listen to teenagers' opinions when making this decision.

I feel your pain!!!! I am an athlete born with a little "extra" up top. 90% of my bras were sports bras so I could have good support.
I went through the surgery with no regrets.
I, too, wanted to drop down a few sizes to help with my athletic performance and reduce my back pain. The pain with breast reduction surgery depends on how much you want to have removed and what technique the doctor uses. Having a significant amount of breast tissue removed will take a little longer to heal than a breast enhancement. The first 3 days were no picnic but after that, I healed very quickly. I have always been a quick healer, so your results may vary.
I am glad that I got the surgery and I can go braless if I want to wear a sleeveless shirt.

I was in the same predicament and had a breast reduction in 2004. I was sore for a bit afterwards, but it was no time before I was up and about. I have not regretted the decision as I experienced a great deal of back pain.
The greatest award, however, is the ability to purchase bras andf other clothes anywhere that sells them. And.....they are much prettier than the bras I use to have to wear.

My mother had a reduction a few years ago, she had huge boobs on a small frame and was plaqued with back pain most of her life. It was very painful for her and took a couple of weeks for her to feel like doing anything major but she would do it all again knowing how painful it was. It was totally worth the pain she went through. I quess you need fiqure out how important it is to you.

I had absolutely zero pain after my breast reduction.
As for a long time to heal... kind of. Final size, nipple sensation, scars fading, may take up to a year to finally happen.
The key word to breast reduction recovery is patience.
I had nipple sensation after three months, my scars are barely noticeable, and I was also at my size at three months post op.
I was a 38J and went to a 38C in Feb 2006 and I recommend it for anyone who has back pain due to their breasts.
My insurance also covered it 100%.

I've never gotten a breast reduction, but i know two people that have and it didn't take that long to heal. I mean, you won't have to stay in the house for a very long time, and plus they are highly satisfied with their results.

My friend had a breast reduction and she loves it. She has a scar from the nipple going straight down and a smalller one at the bottom going across so it looks almost like an upside down T. It also gave her more of a lift so now she is much more confident and comfortable.

Breast reduction surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her breast reduction, tummy tuck and facelift surgery in India by the company called Tour2india4health Consultants .The Price for the surgery she paid in India was very less. She paid 30% of the cost she was quoted in America.
Tour2india4health Consultants is very famous in India. They arrange cosmetic and plastic surgery for foreigners in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as the breast reduction, tummy tuck, facelift and other cosmetic surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.
