Did you read the directions completely? They should tell you.
From the website:
"Directions
adults: when practical, cleanse the affected area by patting or blotting with an appropriate cleansing wipe. Gently dry by patting or blotting with a tissue or a soft cloth before insertion of this product.
detach one suppository from the strip; remove the foil wrapper before inserting into the rectum as follows:
hold suppository with rounded end up
as shown, carefully separate foil tabs by inserting tip of fingernail at end marked "peel down"
slowly and evenly peel apart (do not tear) foil by pulling tabs down both sides, to expose the suppository
remove exposed suppository from wrapper
insert one suppository into the rectum up to 4 times daily, especially at night, in the morning or after each bowel movement "

Don't worry so much. It's an oil based suppository. I had one too. If you would like you should dip it in water and lay on your side and insert it. I know it sounds weird but it slips right in with no pain. And doing this is a lot better than having a hemroid. And when you get flare ups just do the same process again.

Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart, bend over, and slide it in. It'll go all the way in, and unless you're trying to push it back out, it'll stay there -- the muscles at the butt-hole are called sphincter muscles, they're like the cervix -- it's a circle, and it tightens inward . . . that's why you don't poop yourself all the time.

Don't be afraid . . . just relax.

You do have to put them all the way in, and yes it will stay there.

Try warming it slightly before inserting...will make it more comfortable.

Good luck
