I just went to change my girl's blades and I've done them on most cars...but I haven't seen this type in real life or on the internet...
It looks like a 5 or 6 pin metal star...No hooks or flaps or anything that looks familiar...
I've already bought a new set...that was supposed to fit...but it looks nothing like the old ones...

change the whole wiper blade arm. go to a salvage yard and get the whole arm and replace it. easiest way to fix this problem. ive never heard of this on a 86 camaro.

Are you talking about the wiper arms? or blades? If they are add-on blades like Bosch or some other weird setup, you should be able to remove them from the arms and just replace the blades with regular ones like Trico or Anco
