If someone burns a flag in protest, is it more a form of blatant shock and aggression? Or is it a form of expression, letting people know they disagree with the country's present status? And thus be "protected" as a form of expression? I can see both sides and am interested in gaining some other people's opinions. Please be open minded about the question, I'm not trying to offend anyone :)

Sad as it is, Flag burning is a legal form of expression! For me it seems to show disrespect to the country!

There is a proper way to burn a flag, IE retiring (old and torn flags) it, you fold it into a triangle, dig a hole in the ground, burn it and bury it.

It can mean a number of things. Of course it's a form of expression, and it is often done to make some sort of statement.

I think it should remain protected as everything else involving freedom of speech/expression is. It wouldn't make sense to remove one aspect of it. What would be stopping them from removing other freedoms of expression if this was?

Yes.

The Supreme Court has upheld flag burning as a valid form of protected free speech.

While it is a legal form of "expression," I would think that it's validity as expression is suspect. I'd also question the motives of anyone who would use such a (pardon the pun!) incendiary form of expressing their views.

In my opinion, our flag represents our countries past, present and future... so burning it in protest of a current administration is missing the point.

So yes, flag burning is a form of expression... it's highly variable what exactly one is expressing with it though.

America, love it or leave it.

It IS a protected form of free speech. The Supreme has ruled on this issue. Your 1st amendment right guarantees it.
