There are several such sites, but I can't name any off hand. Perhaps some of the others can tell you and give you the exact websites. I just wanted to mention, however, that these sites are not free. You'll have to pay to get the information. I know, because I tried once to locate a long-lost relative, but the cost of doing the search was prohibitive, especially since they offered no guarantee they could even find this person. I wasn't about to throw away my money on a long shot.

Ancestry.com is only partly free, just a small portion of it. You're probably thinking of RootsWeb.com.
