Both the Palestinians and the Jews need and deserve a state.
But it's virtually impossible for peace to occur if the Palestinians keep rejecting the mere idea of a Jewish state, and it doesn't help when they elect a group like Hamas, a terrorist organisation which has vowed to wipe Israel off the map, and which regularly carries out suicide bombings in the Jewish state.

Talking about assumptions:
When people say "there never was a Palestine" they never mean "there never was a body of land that was designated 'Palestine'", they mean "there never was an independent Arab state of Palestine".
It is this fact, while simple, that seems to be obscured constantly whenever the topic is brought up. That is because every discussion (like your question) seems to start with the assumption that it exists. Well, the truth of the matter is that it doesn't. Now, it MAY exist in the future, but due to "facts on the ground" that ain't going to happen anytime soon.
It is my personaly opinion that the so called peace process, which began in 1993 in Oslo, has actually made things much much worse for BOTH sides. If they never undertook Oslo, they may not have had their own state by noww, but at least they wouldn't have the state of affairs that exist now. This is because when you give a terrorist organization power, it will not use it to create a productive state or state-in-the-making but merely as a stepping stone for its own ultimate goals.
If the Palestinians had provided a representative of their own interests which was not interested in destroying Israel things may have gone very differently.

The situation between Israel and the Palestinians is a very sad situation. Israel occupied and oppressed the Palestinian people for a long time. Hamas, although named as a terrorist organization, was responding to this occupation. Israel without hesitation uses military forces disregarding civilian casualities. This further fuels the flames of hatred and Hamas recieves more support. Israel has been very heavy handed with it's handling and treatment of the Palestinians. They have disregarded many UN resolutions including those against the wall the Israelis are building, ignoring the proposition of peace with Lebanon. They are thought by most nations to have disregarded the nuclear proliferation treaty and build itself a nuclear arsenol.
I would not want to be Israel, surrounded by hostile forces, but I also believe they do not do what is in the best interest of the palestinians 9 times out of 10.

The Palestinians are Jordanian and Egyptian Arabs, just like Yasser Arafat, who was from Cairo.
Israel is the one homeland for the Jewish people (see the Bible).
The Arabs have 22 countries of their own.
There has always been a Jewish presence in Israel, which was a desolate place before the creation of the state of Israel. When the state of Israel was created, the Israelis built cities, universities, hospitals, schools, and now Israel is an enviable place.
Two years ago Israel gave the Palestinians a large portion of land (evacuating 5,000 Israeli families in the process). Since then, that territory has been used to launch rocket attacks against Israel, instead of for construction of homes, schools, hospitals, etc.
The main point to consider is that Jews have only one homeland, while there are 22 Arab countries and 55 Muslim countries in the world.

I see you've already made your own assumption: that Palestine was once a recognized state. As with most Palestinian apologists, you couldn't be more wrong.
Now that the Palestinians have refused peace offers time and time again and have now descended into civil war, the world finally recognizes the sole purpose of Palestine: they exist to kill Jews.
Since the invention of Palestine in 1967, the Palestinians have survived as a welfare pseudo-state, with Israel providing more infrastructure, medical care, and education than any other country, including all Arab countries combined. What has Israel received in return? Forty years of terror and violence.

I'm not going to do your homework for you, you'll have to study just like I had to.
First, in about 1947 the Imen of then Palestine threatened the British that he hated the Jews and wanted them out.
He went to Nazi Germany and made a deal with Hitler, they would support him with arms and weapons of all types but, he had to guarantee the British would be gone. It was the Nazis plan to get all the Jews together in one place, extermination would be easy this way but, the invasion of Poland came up.
The British did leave but, they refused (reneged) on their promise to give the Jews their little piece of heaven (Israel) that's when all hell broke loose and the Palestinians went berserk.
They've been trying to kill off the Jews ever since.

Israel is a sixty 3 twelve months previous toddler sucking on the teat of the american Taxpayer. Israel is a economic criminal accountability and a political criminal accountability. Israel is a poisonous asset on the books of the U.S. government. Israel is like your impolite and obnoxious pal who gets you into bar fights once you're minding your guy or woman company staring on the ball game. The Arabs have been on the incorrect element of historic previous every time it mattered. they are morally valueless and could in no way appreciate guy or woman rights and due technique. there is not any historic Palestinian human beings or Palestinian land. they are Arabs. The PLO did no longer even come into existence till the Nineteen Sixties. The Arabs sided with Germany in the two international Wars. The Grand Mufti of Jerusalem reviewed Muslim Nazis with Himmler for the duration of WWII. The Arabs rejected the UN Partition Plan. particularly, they invaded the type new State of Israel. The Arabs lost wars to the Israelis 4 situations. 3 of those defeats have been complete humiliations of the Arabs. They lost Jerusalem to the Israelis in 1967. After dropping 4 wars, the Arabs engaged in and grew to enhance into the poster boys of world terrorism as a count of coverage (e.g., Black September, Munich Olympics, Lufthansa hijacking, Raid on Entebbe, assassination of Sadat, suicide bombings in Israel etc. etc.). The Jordanians could no longer stand the Palestinians the two and had to kick them out of Jordan via rigidity. The Palestinians finally end up in camps in Lebanon and in Iraq. In Gulf war I, the PLO supported Saddam Hussein. After 9/11, the Palestinians interior the Gaza Strip celebrated. The historic previous of the Palestinian liberation stream is characterised via no longer in ordinary terms immoral determination making, yet via gross incompetence.

This can be a complicated issues, the Jews did live in Isreal long time ago, but then scattered away, during then the Arabs, Muslims Palestinians made their land how it was before the Jews came back, but did Isreal become Isreal by being nice? NO, lots of Jews state this aswell, its the way the Jews came back & took the Palestian people's lannd & in the process killing lots of innocent Palestinian Muslim, Arabs, Christian women, men , childrean, there are ways & means of reclaiming ur land, but isint it God's land? you cant just come back & take land by force, violence, & in the process take away other people's land who made it their own & people of all faiths were livin side by side peacefully, the Arabs Muslims, Palestinians made Palestine and rest of Isreal how it was before the Jews came back, they worked to make the land how they did, they worked to live side by side, but as i said the Jews came back with the Help of U.S.A & destroyed the peaceful life there, there are nutters on both sides, but u have to ask urself why do these suicide bombs occur, y are these ppl resorting to desperate measures as this, they feel they dont have any choice, i condmen killing of innocents but u have to look at the root of the problems, some Palestinians dont want Isreal to exist because once they state that then Isreal will wipe out Palestine & its people, they dont want to give that opportunity, Isreal alreayd bulldozed their houes, their busiiness , killied lof of Palestinians so if they were to recognize Palestine then God knows what else Isreal will do, yes Isreal has given some land to the Palesitinians but that just to buy time, make it look like they want Palestine to exist, they are tyring to manipulate Palestinians into believing they want to live side by side, as i said if they alreayd destroyed what Palestine was before Isreal then they will want to wipe out all of them, the land Isreal have given to Palestine was already Palestinians anyway, the Palestinain made that land themsleves when he Jews weren't there, its not a case of Palestinians not wating Isreal to exist, its more case of Isreal not wiping out Palestine, they dont trust them after the way Isreal came about, by force, voilcence, so as i mentioned this a complicated issue, just pray to God that it can be solved & ppl can live in peace, i say give independence to Palestian, & let Isreal live their own life & Palestinians their own, but both sides are not not making the move, even though they claim to be, am sorry if u so any streo types or assumptions there, am just trying to explain best as i can & trying to point out the facts, though some might not agree as they r in denial & dont know history but am just tryign to put this into perspective, PEACE".

I'm in favor of Isreal bc it's the nation of Jews. In the past, they had no homeland and been constantly persecuted, esp. during WWII. I just think they deserve a little break.
