If the topic of passing gas has been discussed, and your date seems fine with the whole topic, then I say let it rip. However if it's never been discussed, then save the winds for a future time.

Not rude at all, it's a natural thing and can be a great talking point on your first date. Breaks up those sometimes awkward silences!

well, i wouldn't do that - unless i really couldn't hold it in any longer... i'd have to get to know the guy better before doing that infront of him.
the best example of this kind of thing happening was a few years ago, when me & my sister were both still living with our parents... i was 19, and listening to some music in my room with my boyfriend.. my sister (who was 16 at the time) had just started dating a guy, and was still in that 'loved up' stage of the relationship... she didn't want to break wind infront of him, so she came running into my room, did a massive fart infront of me & my boyfriend, and then ran back to her own room ! lol. well, her tactics must have worked as she's now married to the guy, and they've now got 3 kids !

its awful for a female to pass wind on any date. but if its a male then they get away with it- well no actually ive changed my mind, on a first date i dont want to hear anything coming out of anyones backside whatsoever lol

do it silent,best way to do that is sit with your **** clamped tight,it comes out with no sound and as long as there are a few people around at the time and it smells you dont have to take the blame! you could say to your date "jesus can you smell that? Dirty bastard!!!) Thats what i do

it is rude if your date cocked their leg and blatantly let off. if its an accident though, would it be less embarrassing to make a joke of it or ignore it?
