I don't know about watching the TV and reading at the same time but one can certainly listen to the TV, read, and listen to another person. When asked what someone was saying, all a guy has to do is separate the voice from the TV and he's set.

i know someone who is like you but her man aint that mean like that. He hardly listens to her cuz he is so caught up watching tv. she sometimes fights with him while he trys begging for forgivness. Try getting his attention before you tell him. and keep that "what was the last thing i said?" just to make sure he was listening. A man's relationship is way important than tv or a newspaper so he should learn how to put that away and listen because the conversation could be important.

I could've sworn someone did a study on this and they said the results were that women were able to multi task better than men. But hell, I can't focus on more than one conversation so I didn't think they knew what the hell they were talking about. I know my hubby can't either...go figure. I guess we both suffer from ADD!

Ok are you sure he is a male!! I have never met a man that could multi-task like that....sometimes I think they have a hard enough time on deciding what to do fart or burp while scratching!! There are some great multi-taking men out there (not that I have actually me one), but it is rumored that men do have an attention span and they know how to use it!

Quite the contrary. I believe women are much better multi-taskers than men. That having been said, the answer to your question is simple: we watch the telelvision show if we are interested in it. If the show was picked by our wife, we pretend to watch it while reading the paper and ignoring the wife's talking. It only appears as if we are multi-tasking.

No. He's trying to get you to shut up and leave him alone, by pretending to read the paper and watch TV, but you won't get the hint. So, he actually listens to you because he knows if he doesn't you'll tell him you told him something and as usual he wasn't listening to you...blah blah blah.

This is a smart man. Obviously, you need to change your tactics because he is soooo on to you.

no men cant multi-task like women maybe he really is listening to you and not paying attention to the other things. men do just kind of get lost in t.v. or the news paper but they still could be listening

He can DO all these things at once, but that doesn't mean he's comprehending any of it. He can watch a show, read a paper, and listen to what you're saying, but he isn't actually processing it. The tv is just a moving picture, the paper is just words, and you talking is just noise. Just because he can repeat what you say doesn't mean he has any clue what you're talking about.

NO, no, no! Men can barely watch T.v. and drink beer at the same time...how do you expect them to to listen and read? My god woman...didn't anyone ever tell you that's the reason multi-tasking is usually left to the women?

I've got a system...you ignore me enough times and I'll never speak to you again. Nor will I cook your dinner, clean your shorts, keep myself fixed up for you, clean our home...in fact it will soon just be your home.

no its been scientifically proven
only women can do that
men are single minded and can focus on 1 thing at a time women on the other hand can watch tv, read, listen, and cook dinner simultaneously
