iPod Help! IT IS NOT MY IPOD! it's my computer!?

I have an iPod Nano. I plugged it in to update it because I downloaded more songs. It charges, but my computer isn't reading it. Therefore, I am unable to put my new songs on my iPod. What can I do? Thanks ahead of thime

Try a different USB port on the computer
Try reseting the iPod (hold down center & play button)
Try reinstalling iTunes

My suggestion is to get rid of the iPod because they aren't that great and get yourself something better like a Creative player or a Zune.
