You say USA is the strongest military nation, okay I'll give you that on paper. But they have never won a modern war on their own. Take a look back at Dec 16,1944... 90,000 Americans surrounded to Germany. USA never fought well, and are overated. They took all the credits of the allies. It is all hype, but no show. What about Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq? And USA never really defeated the enemy in world war one, (they came at the end anyways) and Einstein created the bomb.

And another fact, they would never take on a nazi Germany by itself. They only came in for their own benefit.

Thanks.
You did something that I have been trying to do for a while now. You made everyone who saw this, see past their anger at each other and they have all focused their anger at you.
What a great way to unite those that don't exactly see eye to eye on other fronts. You have my appreciation sir, for you have done what I could not.

Do you know your history?
American's played a huge role in defeating Germany (and Japan) in WWII, both on the battlefield and more importantly, in the arms factories back home. The USA was called the Arsenal of Democracy.
If our goal was destroy the enemy and conquer, we could have done so easily in Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan and Iraq. However that was never the goal, so we fight a very limited war.
The USA was a late comer in WWI, again we were providing lots of aid and arms to the allies.
Lastly, Einstein did not create the bomb. He wrote a letter to FDR advising him to develop one. A large US effort call the Manhattan Project (maybe you've heard of it) with many scientists and workers, headed by J. Robert Oppenheimer (an American) were responsible for the creation of the A-bomb.

I usually don't agree with all the history majors on here and in most cases shoot down all the hype they try to associate with America being the greatest whatever they are blowing hot air about. In this case I have to disagree with you. If it weren't for America in both world wars, things would have been very different. We supplied England with the lend lease program before we entered the war and it's very possible England would have lost had it not been for America. Both world wars were all out war, brute force against brute force. All the other conflicts you mentioned were not wars and were fought with restraints. You might want to look at this as far as the atomic bomb creator. http://www.spacewar.com/2005/050426162119.8zppzm1m.html The only part you got correct was the troop surrender and that's not totally correct, here are the accurate facts. At the beginning of the siege, more than 90,000 Filipino-American troops and 26,000 civilians were trapped on Bataan and Corregidor. Which led to the Battan death march.

OK...slow down there just a little bit Sparky...you are yapping out of the side of your neck!!
To answer your initial query...no unfortunately most Americans do not know much of they're own history. But fortunately, some of us know it...and we know it a lot better than you do.
The reason we've "never won a modern war on [our] own" is because in most of the instances you refer to...AND MOREOVER...MOST OF THE WARS WE'VE EVER BEEN INVOLVED IN...we've stepped in to help a weaker nation defend itself against tyranny and oppression. Your idiotic inclusion of WWI ... WWII ... Korea ... and Vietnam are perfect examples.
And, if we're as overrated as you claim...(even if you can't spell it correctly) and the Allies were doing such a magnificent job...we wouldn't have been involved in WWII in the first place?
Despite years of begging and pleading from weak little European countries (where I'm willing to bet you're originally from) we resisted entering the fray...until we were attacked by a war-mongering Japanese Emperor who mistook our diplomacy as weakness. A mistake you and your ilk would be wise to avoid perpetuating.
As for Afghanistan...are you saying the Taliban won? I must have missed that??? The same Taliban that was so scared they wouldn't even engage our troops...the same Taliban that was too busy deserting, surrendering, and praying that Allah would save them (I guess he was on another call at the time)... to even TRY and fight the "overrated" army that was invading THEIR country?
And while I'll grant you that thousands of American soldiers have died in the ongoing conflict in Iraq...the vast majority of casulties on our side weren't inflicted by the cowardly Iraqi Army...who like their Talibany brethren...ran like scared little school children when our Marines showed up.
The only thing weaker than your argument is your spelling and your syntax.
Get a life...or a least a History Book!!!

Whatever! Just remember this... if it were not for the U.S. most of the world would be speaking German and/or Japanese today! Most of Europe either rolled over to Hitler or was well on it's way to defeat, even merry old England! If it weren't for the help received from the U.S. with such things as the Lend Lease program and later troops, Germany would have taken all of Europe and then you would not have the freedom to complain about ANYTHING much less the United States!

I'm pretty sure Einstein didn't create the bomb, though he was smart.
We pretty much solely beat the Japanese in WWII; there were mass amount of fighting in the Pacific. Did you forget about Japan, or are you the one who doesn't know history?
Our very FIRST war was our War of Independence against the British, we won that one. And when the British came back 40 years later, we beat them again.
As far as Europe in WWII, go back in time 65 years and ask Churchill if he helped or not in the liberation of Europe. See what he says.

So I guess Einstein created all the bomb all by himself...
Your just mad because we were able to fight Japan and Germany at the same time after Germany by itself just about wiped out the combined might of the other European nations.
What credit do we take from the allies? Europe was being slaughtered.

Well, if you want to see what Americans fought like in WWII, rent Band of Brothers, it's a true story.
Secondly, it's a well known fact that in both WWI and WWII, had America not entered the war, the Allies would have lost. Plain and simple. No arguing that fact.
Thirdly, during WWII, where were the Allies against Japan? I believe we took care of that little mess.....

NO nation has won a modern war on its own. What's your point?
Einstein had nothing to do with the A-Bomb, other than giving his approval that such a device needed to be created. You might want to check your facts on that.

No we haven't good point. The reason we can't is because we car too much about the people in the country we are at watr with. If we wanted to blow up a whole country we could but we would kill every person in it and we don't like the thought of that. So yes we don't win wars but it's not because we can't, it's because we don't want too.
