My fiance has HPV/Genital Warts and is on Aldara, I had my pap smear done about 3 weeks ago and just found out I have pre-cancerous cells. I was wondering if I have PRE-cancerous cells is there a possibility he could also?
Is there a test for men in this?

Thank you all so much

I just found out 3 weeks ago that I have HPV...

You can search and search and search for answers but nothing will make you feel better right now...I should know...I'm so terrified...I'm in the midsts of losing my bf because of this...and I'm just scared as heck.

The colposcopy really isn't that bad...if they give you the pain killers. It just feels like a pinch and you will feel like you have a cramp (like you would during a period) for a few days. They will put liquid bandaid on it to protect it and you will get discarge that is kinda a black color...don't worry...it's normal. It's just the liquid bandaid. What my doctor is hoping is going to happen is that when my body goes to heal my little...well...scratches on the cervix I think you can call it...that my body will notice that "Hey....this isn't supposed to be here" and try and heal the infection. She said it will take 8 months to a year if my body decides to do this. You can take immune boosters and all to help you.

Just to make yourself feel better...at least this did for me...HPV is VERY VERY VERY common. It's so common in fact that dogs get it. Every person on this planet will get HPV at one time or another...it just all depends on what kind of strand it is...most people get it but their body treats it like a virus (like it would a cold) and get rid of it. There are hundreds of strains of HPV but only a very slight few (few meaning maybe 3) cause cancer and only 2 of them cause genitle warts (which I'm waiting to get my tests back from my colposcopy last week...and I'm hoping I don't have this one). It is also VERY VERY rare that a man will develop cancer from HPV...the only men that get cancer from HPV are usually gay men.

Look it up...ask questions...this is the only thing that has helped me calm down.

Men can carry HPV and it doesn't usually effect them with cancer. I have HPV and no gential warts and the doctor told me that my husband won't get cancer or canerous cells from it. Just to let you know there is 30 strains of HPV that causes gential warts and 70+ that do not cause gential warts. Usually doctors won't treat you for HPV unless it is gential warts. HPV without gential warts clears up usually.

well yes he can have pre cancer cells also. girls have a higher risk at getting cervical cancer etc,HOWEVER it is known that in some women that the hpv virus just goes away, whereas for men, they will have it until a cure is found.
