I dont want to do steam cleaning of carpets but do the cleanup on these units. Im thinknig of billing per sq foot. Like $0.11 per sq foot. Is that too low?

eh, its usually a flat rate, and in the apartment industry, its all about competitive pricing (managers are on strict budgets) and the insurance you have. (many management companies have STRICT insurance requirements)

if you can get past those 2 hurdles..i suggest you charge....

1x1 $75.00
2x1-$80.00
2x2-$85.00
3x2 $95.00
4x2 or Townhome $105.00
$20.00 + extra for extremely dirty areas...
Example 1x1 with DISGUSTING stove: charge $95.00 (flat rate + $20)

these suggestions are close to the pricing I see on a daily basis.

Don't bill per square foot. You'll end up shooting yourself in the foot. Charge by the hour (always with a 1 hour minimum), or charge according to apt size, how many bedrooms, bathrooms.

The amount you charge will depend on the area where you live. Here's where you need to do your research.

In Tulsa, OK I charged between $30-50 for a 1-2 BR apt. This was back in the 80's.
In San Diego, CA, I charged between $25-175. This was in 1994.

Call around other businesses and ask them for a quote. Let them think you are considering using their services. That's one of the easiest ways to get an idea of what to charge.

Owned a housekeeping business for years. Both residential and move out make-ready.

I charged $100 for a 1 bdrm, $150 for 2 bdrm & $175 for 3. That includes cleaning oven, d/w and fridge.

I would charge $15 per hour, that sounds fair and if you bring your own cleaning supplies. Take care and be well.
