We have a chance of getting someone DIFFERENT into office (Ron Paul)...someone who is honest and wants America to return to the Constitution and all that it stands for.

But, since main stream media is shoving Obama, Clinton, and Romney down our throats, that is all people want to talk about.

Can those three even spell Constitution? From what I have seen, the answer is no.

AND, if the main stream media were to splatter Ron Paul's name everywhere, would people like him then? I have come to the conclusion that in general the voting populace only gives credit to those that we are told to give credit to. Can the American people not think for themselves?

I just think that it is extremely sad that main stream media dictates who our elected officials are.

You bring up a very good question. Unfortunately it's not easy to answer. It's easy to say that most Americans are just too stupid to make up their own minds but that would be pretty short sighted. But it is true that too many Americans are apathetic when it comes to politics and it's easier to pick from a few choices than to pick from many. My wife and I are both Paul supporters. But to find out about him you have to do your own homework. That's where the apathy comes in. And that's how people settle for what's spoon-fed to them. We can only hope this next election year will be different. But somehow I doubt it.

Sure the media gets people's names out there, and inasmuch as people vote for who they think is "electable," the primaries tend to go toward the big name candidates.

However, this doesn't have to be the case. You have to organize at the state level to get your candidate nominated in the primaries before he or she even has the chance to get elected. If someone runs away with some big primary victories or strong showings (like Howard Dean did last time), they'll become a news story and get more attention.

I think people should support Dennis Kucinich!

I agree.
It's up to us to vote and make sure our voices are heard. The media would have us believe Ron Paul has no chance -- we need to prove them wrong. We just need to get out and vote. What a nice surprise it would be if Ron Paul actually won in the primaries. Then maybe the media would start listening to us.

I think you are wrong on all counts. Ron Paul is going nowhere. The main stream media does not tell anyone how to vote. I don't even read political editorials in newspapers.
