With the quad prices dropping in July 22 I am considering buying a Quad. But is the Q6700 worth the $300 extra or should I just get the Q6600.

I will be running thi son an nforce 680i chipset mobo, 8800gts 640mb, 2GB patriot ram, 150GB 10k WD raptors

Might consider overclocking but for now Ill just stick to the stock speeds

Not worth $300 more for .26 Ghz of speed. In fact, unless you are doing video editing, rendering, or extreme multitasking, a dual core will probably be plenty.

It depends on the amount of money you have to spend. If you have a lot, spend the extra money but in my opinion it isn't worth it. It really isn't too much of a difference and when you are running a PC with those specs, you will most likely not notice a difference no matter what you use the computer for.

Good luck
