These do not sound like teething symptoms. It could be a virus or bacterial infection of some kind, and you should call your pediatrician's office for a phone consultation with a nurse or an appointment with the doctor as soon as possible. While vomiting is often caused by a stomach virus, it can also be caused by nasal congestion--the excess mucus can upset their stomach--or excessive coughing which can trigger the gag reflex and make the child vomit.

Make sure your daughter drinks plenty of fluids--Pedialyte (or the store-brand equivalent) was recommended by my doctor in the past when my daughter was vomiting--to keep her hydrated, since the vomiting can quickly dehydrate an infant.

You should also be taking her temperature with an accurate ear, temporal, or rectal thermometer (it is hard to get an accurate temperature reading using oral and under-arm thermometers on toddlers this age). If she has a fever over 101 you should definitely go to see her doctor.

I will place some links to Dr. Sears website--he's a well-respected pediatrician and his website has an excellent glossary of advice on different childhood illnesses and also a great "medicine cabinet" area that talks about commonly used medicines for children.

Good luck and well wishes for your little girl!

I am a dental assistant and have been for 3 years. A runny nose is pretty typical when babies are teething. As for the vomiting and coughing I would see a doctor those are not symptoms of teething.

Call the Dr. if she is vomitting after each meal she could become dehydrated. My son never did this when he was teething and he has 6 teeth.

doesnt sound teething related....i would get her cheaked out does she have a high temp ? is she behaving as she normaly does happy, smiling ,sleeping more or less or just the same etc ?
if your babys nose is blocked she wont be able to breath normaly which means she has to breath through her mouth children breath mainly through there nose so this will be bothering her when she is eating and trying to breath at the same time through her mouth it can also make her reflux (bolk) that can lead to her being sick.(vomiting)..
but i would say give the doctor a call just not ease's your mind and making sure your daghter is ok

I would make an appointment , teething has nothing to do with the symptoms your daughter has. She could have a flu or something .

runny nose - OK i get that one - but the vomiting and coughing - not good and not related to teething - get an appointment with your pediatrician.
Good luck to you

You should probably take her to the doctor--sounds like more than teething problems--might be a sinus infection.
