NOW THAT THE SAINTS HAVE gotten to the nfc chamionship once, it looks like the detroit lions, phoenix cardinals, and cleveland browns!

I disagree. So what, the Saints got to the NFC championship once? Does that make them successful? The Saints have been to the playoffs 5 times and only last year did they do any good (and lost).

Detroit hasn't won a champion ship since 1957 (& 53, 52) But for the last 40 plus years pretty sucky.

Cards haven't won since 1947 so yes I would say they suck.

Browns won titles in 1950, 54 & 55 and were divisional champs in 71,80,85,86,87 & 89. So I would disagree about them too.

Also did we forget about the Falcons? So they made it to one superbowl and lost does that make them good? Same with the SeaHawks.

I say,

Cardinals, Saints, and Lions. Based on your question "history" and not just the last 5-10 years.

Consider the fact that you said NFL History...

The Lions are a shoe-in. I don't know that they have ever been a good team. 0 Super Bowl Appearances - 0 NFC Title appearances. They won a championship in the 40's, but only the one. No brainer.

Cardinals - see notes on Lions, only change their one title to the 50's.

Despite their season last year and their potential for future success, I have to say the Saints. I don't recall them ever making it to the NFL Championship and for years have been the armpit of the league. They are on the rise now, but historically have been very poor.

Before you go tossing down the Browns, check your history. Paul Brown led them to several championships in the pre-Super Bowl era. The NFL has been around since the early 1900's. The first Super Bowl was played in 1967 when the NFL and AFL decided to play the game to determine a football champion between the two leagues before they joined to create the new NFL in 1970.

well when you say in history, i would say the lions, the cardinals, and the saints. even though they have done good recently, up untill two years ago they were pretty bad. the texans haven't been in the league long enough to make this list.

i disagree with the browns, while they haven't done anything recently, don't forget that during the pre-super bowl years the browns were always a powerhouse for the championship. they won four nfl championships. and the browns were in the playoffs often during the 70's and 80's including the afc conference championships in 86 and 87. you have to look all the way back when you say in history.

At least the Browns have had some success in the past, when Jim Brown was there in the 60's and Bernie Kosar and Ozzie Newsome were there in the 80's.

I would have to say that the 3 sorriest franchises ever have to be the Cardinals, the Lions, and the Houston Texans.

I would say that the Lions and Cardinals are givens for the sorriest award, but I would give the third spot to the Vikings. Whenever they get close to winning it all they fail miserably. 4 Super Bowl appearances , 0 victories. 1998 their kicker, who was money the entire season, misses the kick that would send them to the Super Bowl, and the Falcons win the game. The Vikings were the absolute best team that year, but choked once more. The Raiders have been good a number of times, and the Browns were a decent team at one time (but not in my lifetime.) Unless by Browns you only count the team that started up in Cleveland after the old Browns moved to Baltimore. The new Browns are pretty sad, but don't have enough history to them yet to be among the sorriest.

1. Lions
2. Cardinals
3. Vikings

Lions did make it to the nfc championship once, back when we had barry. and they won the football championship 3 times in the 50's, but in the last 5 years they have been one of the worst record teams out there.

Man are you way off on the Cleveland Browns. By your Saints rationale the Browns have been to the AFC Championship game 3 times, and have won multiple Championships before there even was a Super Bowl. Remember you said HISTORY!

You little kids need to catch up on your football history before you run off at the mouth!
