This isn't the matrix. Ever heard the famous quote by Descartes; "I think therefore I am." I consider existence being able to interact with your environment and drawing intelligent conclusions. We are interacting on yahoo answers aren't we? What leads you to believe you don't exist?

As a master of Zen meditation, and one of the most insistant illusions you'll ever meet...
The answer to your question is...(wait for it...it's big, deep, true, and not pretty...)
Yes and no...
Your body "exists," and ONLY your body (the whole pretty bag of protoplasm, brain, and bone...).
Your "mind" doth NOT...
The "human mind" is an illusion created by the interweaving/kaleidoscopic interplay between "sensation" and "perception." Throw in electrical patterns that never repeat exactly the same way, and are here and gone in ever-changing micro-memory moments, which also are ever-changing with time, and what you get is an illusion of epic proportions.
Your "illusionary mind," however...
Is an "all-important" and "loving" one (hopefully), and we still "need" that "illusion" to survive in today's world, and live a "good" illusionary life...
Just because our "personalities" and "minds" are illusions, is no reason to ignore them. They are obviously super-important to us, illusionary or not...
But in the end, the truth is...that only your body exists...so take care of it, and try not to kill other bags of protoplasm. After all, they were someone's "illusionary baby once...
Live life to the fullest, try not to whine too much about getting older, and look on the bright side...whatever that is...
(Nuf' said...now let's rock...!!!")

Yes, it is an illusion, the illusion is our perception in that our perception is fallible and finite and therefore subjective to the perceiver.
But if nothing existed at all, then nothing would be typing this response to you.

This hints at the movie, The Thirteenth Floor.
Anyhow, one cannot logically doubt their own existence when one has to exist in order to doubt in the first place.

What is reality? Can we assume that something exists if it manifests itself to us in some way that one of our five senses can detect or observe? That to me is the definition of existance, 'manifesting our selves to each other.' Unreality doesn't make common sense, but its fun to think the way you do.

Experience precedes language and thought. You're never going to know this until you stop thinking for a moment (if you can).
