the points the other people make are all sound. but dont forget the most important one. the automotive fuel injection system is not coast guard or marine certified. you could end up in legal trouble!!

Nope wont work.
By the time you marinize it you will be spending a lot.
A marine engine has brass freeze plugs instead of steel as in automotive to prevent them from rusting out. The Camshaft and valve springs are different because they run at 4200 to 4800 rpm range . An automotive engine doesnt run in this rpm range.
The computer on an automotive engine wont read the correct inputs in a marine environment. So basically the engine will eventually have a sort lifespan if you can even get it to run correctly. Then find the correct manifolds and risers and Y pipe exhaust for the boat. Then the correct ratio outdrive and prop . I dont know if your boat has a 460 now but its gonna take a boatload of money to do it.

Don't go there. The ford 460 motor is basically obsolete. My boat has twin OMC 460s in it. There is not one company out there that makes marine exhaust manifolds for that motor. The only option is an adapter that allows you to utilize manifolds from a 454. Only problem is they cost about $360 a side and then you have to pay for the manifolds. If you need a big block, go with the 454(7.4 ltr). You'll never have trouble finding the parts you need.

As long as the eng your taking out of the boat was a 460 an you have the marine parts to convert . As buying marine parts to convert are beyond $$$ .If the eng is fuel inj than the computer will be hard to make it work???Carb yes.
