I have, sadly learned through experience to separate the art from the artist, the work from the worker, the thought from the thinker, the invention from the inventor. (Meaning, many famous people who have done fantastic things are not very decent people with whom anyone would want to break bread, not me, anyway.)
Fame is a joke. Its only testament is to someone known for being known. The work is what counts, and you can't break bread with the work.
