WASHINGTON (AP) - The White House on Thursday made fun of former President Clinton and his wife, Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, for criticizing President Bush's decision to erase the prison sentence of former aide I. Lewis "Scooter" Libby.
"I don't know what Arkansan is for chutzpah, but this is a gigantic case of it," presidential spokesman Tony Snow said.
Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., has scheduled hearings on Bush's commutation of Libby's 2 1/2-year sentence.
"Well, fine, knock himself out," Snow said of Conyers. "I mean, perfectly happy. And while he's at it, why doesn't he look at January 20th, 2001?"
In the closing hours of his presidency, Clinton pardoned 140 people, including fugitive financier Marc Rich.

Yes, and most were done in the 11th hour so he could not be held accountable.
Terrorists, Drug Dealers, including his half-wit half brother who uses the "N" word like I use the word "the". 72 drug dears, in fact. A Pedaphile, counterfitters, rapist, and Marc Rich, an international weapons dealer who was on the FBI's most wanted list however, his wife made a $1M contribution to the Bill Clinton Library getting him a free pass.
The Clinton's are not fit to be President. Their unethical, law breaking behavior is WELL documented to anyone willing to read about it.
ABTW, Libbey NEVER outed anyone. Libs over look the truth and facts of the case. He was convicted on perjury. The same thing that both Bill and Hillary have been accused of, in fact, Bill was convicted, but will serve the exact amout on time that Libby. None.
Hillary, it was concluded, lied but making a case that would stick would have been tough. Remember, the David Geffen said it best " It's not that the Clinton's lie, it's just that they do it with such ease"

Waaah, mommy, Billy started it!
It's getting pretty tiring listening to all the cons whine at the same time they constantly accuse liberals of whining.
Here is an apple: pardoning a guy accused of embezzling who's already paid huge consequences. No one was hurt.
Here is an onion: pardoning a guy who outed a covert CIA agent, ruined her career, and possibly caused the deaths of many other confidential informants in her system--just to keep hidden that they were lying to all Americans in order to start an unnecessary war. Many thousands have died and been permanently injured.
Why is it so hard for cons to make distinctions? Becuase it takes thinking and analysis? Easier to just keep blaming Clinton for everything instead of having to admit you've been making a huge mistake for almost a decade by supporting the worst president we've ever had.
I never thought I'd miss Nixon.

Clinton pardoned or commuted 400+ in 8 years. Nixon pardoned 800+ in 4. What's your point?
Bush pardoned someone convicted of taking part in a bombing in 2005. At a time when anything to do with bombing was considered terrorist. Snow should be careful what he wishes for...

So did Bush or Snow ever criticize Clinton for the pardons?
Are pardons (and commutations) wrong? So were both Clinton and Bush wrong?
Or are pardons (and commutations) okay, meaning there's no reason to criticize Clinton either?
Which is it?

Yes it is true. Clinton made about 450 pardons in 8 years and Reagan made about 410 in 8 years.

If I were a citizen of Michigan, I would be really pissed that my Congressman was going to waste more of my money on a witchhunt, AGAIN!
As for Marc Rich, he had ties to Hillary's brother and his pardon was a specific request from Hillary's brother, you know Bill's brother-in-law.
These liberal democrats really need to get their own house in order BEFORE they continue to waste OUR money on witchhunts like this. Libby did nothing. The Clintons both did 10 times as much as him and they are still walking free and hell even running for president. What crimes will she commit then?

Clinton never pardoned anyone involved in a case in which he was complicit (like this scooter thing)
republicans all whine about the pardon of Marc Rich who was exiled from his homeland for 20 years and MADE to pay 100 million dollar fine.(HOW MUCH WILL YOU BET THAT SCOOTER DOESN'T PAY 1 PENNY OF HIS $250,00 FINE) A crime that he at least paid in part for. By the way the crime was thnot even half as bad as the crime Ronald Reagan and Ollie North should have been equally treated for.
Marc Rih traded oil futures with Iran during hostage crisis against law to do business with Iran (a order passed by Congress) RONALD REAGAN AND OLIVER NORTH SOLD THEM WEAPONS!!!!!!

Yes, he pardoned his cronies while Hillary was stealing the furnishings that the Clintons were ordered to return later.
Good thing the US got them back before that Arkansas garage sale they had planned.
